Following the international trend, we decided to go on as a 3 man team when Wolfgang left the team. After our success at Castiglione 1998 we know that this is the better way. Here are our portraits. |

Bernhard Steindl |
I am Bernhard and 38. I'm married with Andrea and we have two children. Marilies is 12 and Leni is 8. I'm really a workoholic. I manage my own two firms, a printing and a digital production company. That's why I have time for kiting and my family only on weekends. I began kiting in 1991 and was one of the founders of team Kite-O-holix. Beside kiting, my other hobbies are mixing music and electronic stuff. Years ago I played in a band and I still have much of the musical equipement from that time. I'm the teams music mixer. With my Silicon Graphics Indy, I mixed our new team music, from the movie soundtrack "The Rock". |
Christian Schimanek |
I am Christian and was born in 1961. I'm a software engineer at Siemens.
As I already fly since 1989, I have highest grade of experience in our team. As the team's
choreograph, I have to use my creativity. My other hobbies are cycling, cutting videos and remote model flying where I was Austrian Vice Champion in 1992. I also fly as Pairs Just4fun with Ernst Markus. I can also sew kites quite good and built the teams zerowind kites. |
Ernst Markus Kofler |
I'm Ernst Markus, was born in 1967 and I have probably the hardest job
within the team. I'm the commandman. I work as a SAP consultant and (internet) software
engineer. One of my private software projects was a kiteprogram that can simulate tricks
like axles and stalls. As you may think, I'm also the author of this site on the web. I began kiting in 1993 and joined the Kite-O-holix team in 1994. Together with Christian, we started flying pair in 1994. I've got a girlfried and many other hobbies like mountainbiking (can drive wheelies over 3 km at 30 km/h!) and kart racing where I'm very successful too. My kart team V-max wins 24 hour races, Cups, and I even won a flight to the F1 Grand Prix to Monte Carlo this year! |
